TRASHION REFASHION 2022 PRESENTED BY PLATO’S CLOSET

The Trashion/Refashion show has a positive impact on a variety of people and organizations in the Bloomington community. Our event brings awareness to sustainable living, focusing on fashion as a creative channel for our message. Hosting our event in the heart of downtown Bloomington attracts a large audience who may or may not know how to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Being able to perform at the BCT benefits our efforts to keep our production costs low and ticket prices affordable, enabling us to use our funds to incorporate local performing artists and musicians into our performance, as well as ensuring funds for CSL and future Trashion/Refashion shows.

This annual event has inspired artistic designers, students, community members, and even children to find new ways to reuse discarded materials in a creative way. Open to all skill levels, anyone can submit their design and any model can walk our runway regardless of body type or experience. We are able to work with a variety of people, ranging in age from elementary school to senior citizens. With such a wide demographic of designers, each year inspiring yet more creative individuals, entries have become more competitive and inspiring each year.
