COMMUNICATIONS
There will be an email list created for 2026 designers and models. We have email addresses for all designers but not for all models. Please note that it is YOUR responsibility to make sure your model is kept up to date. We can add models to the email list. Please send model email addresses to contact@bloomingtontrashion.org.
ORIENTATION ZOOM MEETING
All first-time designers and models are strongly advised to attend this meeting on Thursday, March 26, 7pm, which will help you prepare for the show. If you have not received an invite for the orientation, please contact us at contact@bloomingtontrashion.org. If you have participated in the past, and want a refresher, you are welcome to join in! There will be time for Q&A.
INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO FOR THE RUNWAY
Thanks to Deb Christiansen and Lucas Lim we have an 8 minute video that shows the path models will follow during the show. We encourage both new and experienced models to review this video before the Zoom meeting and rehearsals: Trashion BCT Model Pathway
REHEARSAL AT HARMONY
All models and designers should attend rehearsal on Sunday, March 29th, at Harmony School gymnasium, 909 East 2nd. St, Bloomington, IN, 47401. We will have 2 sections of rehearsal, one for each act of the show.
Similar to last year, each act will be a mix of Trashion and Refashion. We have determined the sequence for the March 29 rehearsal and you can find out which group you are in here. Group 1 will meet at 1:30pm and Group 2 will meet at 3pm. You are welcome to attend both if you’d like!
Please have your model wear the shoes they will be wearing for the show. You do not need to bring your design, but if you are looking for a model, it will help to bring your design to the rehearsals.
HAIRSTYLING AND MAKEUP AT TRICOCI UNIVERSITY
Hair styling and makeup at Tricoci University, 1681 N College, Bloomington, IN 47404, will again be available on the day of the show. Submit your request for styling support through our Hair/Makeup Request Form no later than Saturday, April 11th. Appointments will be the morning of the show and Group 1 appointments start at 10am and Group 2 start at 11:30am. The styling is free, however Tricoci students do appreciate your tips!
RUNWAY MUSIC
Unfortunately, our DJ will not be able to take requests for music this year. We apologize for the disappointment. We will try to make this available next year.
DRESS REHEARSAL
Dress rehearsal happens on the day of the show – Sunday, April 12th, at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater 114 E. Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington, IN 47408. We will run through the show in sequence. Group 1 check in time is 1:15pm and Group 2 check in time is 2:45pm. All models and designers need to enter the theater from through the back door due to construction on Kirkwood.
At the dress rehearsal we will have a photobooth in the theater’s lobby to get detailed photos of designs after the models leave the runway. Please make sure that your model is in full hair and makeup for these photos! See past year examples on our Flickr site of our “photo booth” or “studio shot” albums. We will have pizza available after the dress rehearsal.
COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS
Designers, models, and guardians do not need to purchase tickets. We will provide seats as needed for you. Designers and guardians who need a seat for the show can let us know who you are by completing the Online Ticket Request Form. Please respond no later than Monday March 30th.
DESIGN IMAGES
Please do not share images of your designs – especially on social media – prior to the Runway Show. Also please avoid wearing designs in public. Surprise is a key element of the show!
